Ciao, Monica
Let’s keep the conversation going. Follow me on Instagram, or write to me at tortellinico@gmail. If you want, you can read my last Via Emilia newsletter here.
Via Emilia is a special edition of my newsletter that you will receive once a month with notes dedicated to Bologna and the region Emilia-Romagna.
The season of the year that I love most, the holiday season is approaching. And that is the right time to sign up for a cooking class. Either to learn new recipes or to give a gift. If you plan a trip to Bologna, I will indicate some suggestions.
At the bottom, you will also find a recommendation for an authentically Bolognese aperitif.
Reggio nell’Emilia Cooking Class
My friend Vanessa and her mom organize classes to learn how to make pasta dough, fresh pasta, and traditional desserts.
You can find dates and info on the ZDŌRA website.
Bologna cooking classes
My kitchen is the right place for you if you are passionate about cooking, love homely and seasonal food, and want to discover the richness and variety of Bolognese and Italian cuisine. We can cook a meal together, from appetizer to dessert, or a recipe that intrigues you.
I live just a few hundred meters from the Two Towers.
(From May to September, you can choose to have a food experience in the kitchen of the country house a few kilometers from the city center).
Write me for info: tortellinico@gmail.com
Crepe is a baking and cooking lab.
If plant-based cooking or doughs are what you're looking for, follow Maolo Torregiani on Instagram to learn about his class schedule or to get in touch with him.
Everyone in Bologna knows La Salumeria di Bruno e Franco.
Perhaps not everyone knows that the boss is a young woman (the one you see in the photo).
In addition to the delicatessen store, exists a fresh pasta lab. And that's where Martina will welcome you for one of her traditional Bolognese sfoglia and pasta fresca cooking classes.
For information write or call.
L’aperitivo Bulgnais (a true Bolognese aperitif)
In the shadow of San Petronio, well camouflaged among other bars and eaters, there is a tiny, one-window place that offers Bolognesità in the form of sparkling and mortadella.
And if you think you can find these things anywhere, know that a special sandwich like this is only here.
It is a rustic, authentic, nonstandard place, and I recommend it to those who are seeking a taste of the flavor and soul of Bologna.
ps: Pigro means lazy. In fact, the owner opens whenever he wants. Good luck!
Pigro Mortadelleria, Via de' Pignattari, 1b.
