I was so excited to open this post because I had a feeling that Drogheria della Pioggia would be on your list. My wife and I stayed right around the corner from Piazza della Pioggia over the holidays, and we fell in love with this little shop. It was unlike anything we have experienced before. Certainly unlike anything that exists in the US in the 21st Century. And while I was intimidated at first because my Italian is mostly transactional, the gentlemen behind the counter could not have been more lovely. I always find that opening with a, "Mi dispiace. Non parliamo l'Italiano bene," helps smooth things over. My wife was particularly excited about the flavors of Marvis toothpaste they carried as well as the small tins of Leone candies which we loaded up on. Can't wait to return next year!
I'm so happy, Tim! That Drogheria is one of my favorite places in Bologna, where I buy traditional and artisanal ingredients to make some old Bologna recipes! And the owners are so kind and welcoming. I love them! At least, being humble is always a sound calling card (I humbly try to write in English) ps: I use Marvis, and I love small Leone candies (I grew up eating them).
A Como c'era una drogheria super { ora è chiusa} il Cucchi! Le drogheria sono posti davvero speciali con quel profumo di vaniglia e naftalina
😂 Se volessi aprirne una la chiamerei così! Bello l'articolo!
Bello anche il nome che sceglieresti!
Peccato che non c’è più a Como…! Lei è di Como? Io ci abito adesso!
Siii abito vicino a Como. Blevio è il primo paese verso Bellagio
Vivevo a Blevio per 8 anni vicino le suore
